It was established by [[MIAT Mongolian Airlines]] to feed international services by MIAT, [[Korean Air]], [[Air China]] and [[Aeroflot]] from Ulan Bator. It has 55 employees (at March [[2007]])<ref name="FI"/>. It received its first [[Fokker 50]] in December 2002 and received its [[Fokker 100]] in January [[2006]]. With the arrival of the Fokker 100, Aero Mongolia introduced its first flights to [[South Korea]]. Aero Mongolia leased another Fokker 100 in June 2006. At the end of 2006 the airline started a direct flight route to [[Tianjin]], [[China]].
