BiGG MiXX was a short-lived Kellogg's breakfast cereal introduced in 1990. The cereal was an assortment of other Kellogg brand cereals already in existence mixed together, commonly described as the result of cereals swept up off the floor of Kellogg's factory.

The mascot, who went by the same name, was a cartoon character which combined the physical features of a chicken (head and lower body), wolf (face), moose (antlers), and pig (snout) and was commonly depicted in commercials as being ravenously hungry. He was said to come from the Yakima Valley. Plush toys were available in addition to plastic trinkets found in boxes. Although the marketing proved more successful amongst target audiences than the cereal itself, the mascot was retired along with the cereal in 1992.
"The Legend of Bigg Mixx"
The side of the BiGG MiXX cereal box told "The Legend of Bigg Mixx", a fictional story about the origin of the cereal:
<blockquote>Combine the wild appetites of a wolf, a moose, a pig, and a chicken, and you have Bigg Mixx — the legendary Chicken-wolf Moose-pig of the Yakima Valley.<p>
The first reported Bigg Mixx sighting took place in 1978 when Yakima native, Travis Uddlebock, was hiking near Toppenish Creek.<p>
"I saw the tip of an antler peeking out over a bush and I heard a loud snort. I thought it was a wart hog, so you can imagine my surprise when he stood upright on two paws, flapped his wings, and howled like a wolf. I laughed so hard I passed out."<p>
Since then, then have been countless other sightings — in the woods, at shopping malls, and even once on a subway in New York City (unconfirmed). And eye witnesses all agree, "He eats like a pig."<p>
Now, in the spirit of this noble creature, Kellogg's introduces Bigg Mixx cereal.<p>
"I'm sure Bigg Mixx would be proud knowing Kellogg's had named a new cereal after him," Uddlebock explained. "He's a proud creature. A little stupid, but definitely proud."</blockquote>
Other Info
*In 1999, Post introduced "Create A Crunch" which was a "cereal mixing kit" for kids, much in the spirit of BiGG MiXX.
*In response to a query to Kellogg's Consumer Affairs department for more information to include in this article, a representative sent a scan of the box cover along with a note reading, in part, "We only offered the cereal from 1990 to 1991, so it had a short life! Consumers just never got interested enough in it."
*Two varieties were introduced together: Regular (white Box pictured below) and Bigg Mixx With Added Raisins (purple box -pictured above). People do indeed mix cereals, but may prefer doing it themselves. Kashi, famous for their "seven whole grains and sesame" products recently discontinued its Kashi Medley cereal- a similar effort to Bigg Mixx with Raisins combining cereals with dried fruit.
