The song title refers to a Maasai, an African nomadic people, tradition in which cow blood and curdled milk is consumed during special occasions. This is supported by the tribal chanting at the beginning of the song which is being played backwards along with the use of instruments being played. The lyrics describe one lusting for love who is drawn to the call of a siren, a mythical creature who lures unsuspecting victims to their demise. The chanting heard in the middle and at the end of the song are also a reference to the siren's song. The album version is accompanied by the instrumental "Where The Sidewalk Ends, The Bug Parade Begins" after the silence at the end of the song. Rabbit in the Moon remixed this song for their compilation Rabbit In the Moon Remixes Volume 1 while PM Dawn remixed it for the Supersexy Swingin' Sounds remix compilation. A music video was intended to be made, but the band split up before this could be accomplished. In 2000, the song was covered by the Moravian ethno metal band Silent Stream Of Godless Elegy for the White Zombie tribute album Super-Charger Hell. The song is currently used as entrance music by Baltimore Orioles closer George Sherrill. ==Track Listing== # "Blood, Milk, and Sky (LP Version)" - 11:20 # "Blood, Milk, and Sky (Edit Version)" - 5:44 ==Personnel== *Charlie Clouser - Programing, Keyboards *Terry Date - Producer, Mixing *Lamont Hyde - Recording and Mixing Assistant *Ted Jensen - Mastering *Wade Norton - Recording and Mixing Assistant *John Tempesta - Drums *Ulrich Wild - Recording *J. - Guitar *Sean Yseult - Bass, Art Direction *Rob Zombie - Vocals, Lyricist, Art Direction, Illustrations White Zombie
