It is one of the most popular clubs in the Czech Republic. It's most successful era came in the early 1980s when the club won the Czechoslovakian League Championship and advanced to the semifinals of the UEFA Cup (both in 1983). In the year 2005 it survived a crisis, which was a consequence of bad management. The club was relegated to the 3rd Czech division due to its financial insolvency, but later was saved by its fans who paid off portion of the club's debts. The club was able to advance back to the 1st league in 2007, but in 2008 the team was relegated again to the second league. Its colors are green and white. The home stadium located in Vršovice is called Ďolíček. The best known player from Bohemians' history is Antonín Panenka. Bohemian's mascot is a kangaroo, the legacy of a 1927 tour of Australia. Following the tour, the club was awarded two live kangaroos, which they donated to the Prague Zoo. ==Brief history== Historical names: * 1905 AFK Vršovice * 1927 AFK Bohemians * 1940 AFK Bohemia * 1945 AFK Bohemians * 1948 Železničáři Praha * 1952 Spartak Praha Stalingrad * 1961 ČKD Praha * 1961 Bohemians ČKD Praha * 1993 FC Bohemians Praha * 2005 Bohemians 1905 == Current squad == As of January 6, 2008: Football squad start Fs mid Football squad end == Major trophies == * Czechoslovakia´s Champion in 1983 * Czech Republic´s Cup Winner in 1982 * "Weekend of Champions" Winner in 2007 == Major tournaments == UEFA Cup 1982/83, Losing to eventual champions, Anderlecht, in the semi-finals. ==References== Reflist ==External links== * Official website * "Against All Odds: Bohemians win the tournament!"(English Version) euro-footyclub-stub ca:FC Bohemians Praha 1905 cs:Bohemians 1905 de:Bohemians 1905 Prag es:FC Bohemians 1905 fr:Bohemians Prague it:Bohemians 1905 lt:Bohemians 1905 Praha nl:FC Bohemians 1905 Praag no:Bohemians 1905 pl:Bohemians 1905 pt:Bohemians Praga ru:Богемианс 1905 tr:FC Bohemians 1905 Praag
