Bronz were an English band formed in the 1980s playing mainstream, melodic rock or AOR. They were the first band to be launched on the US market by the UK-based Bronze Records. The band came from Bath and consisted of ex-Nightwing vocalist Max Bacon, keyboards/guitar Chris Goulstone and guitar Shaun Kirkpatrick, bass player Paul Webb and drummer Carl Matthews.
After leaving the band Max Bacon went on to join GTR. Shaun Kirkpatrick continued with Bronz working with Scott Gorham (of Thin Lizzy) after the others had left with the new name Blueprint recording a whole new album with record producer Max Norman (Ozzy Osbourne's producer), and later went on to work with Van Morrison, he now writes music for TV and Film,as does Chris Goulstone. Chris also played lead guitar for Hugh Cornwell (ex-Stranglers) for a number of years.
Bronz re-formed in virtually the original guise in the late 1990s but with Jonathan Kirkpatrick (Shaun's brother) on bass, Paul Webb re-assumed his original vocal duties. An album of live material and new studio tracks was released called "Getting Higher". The band continued to be active into 2005 and 2006, although no new released material was forthcoming.
