The bubble-tip anemone (Entacmaea quadricolor), also known as the bubble tip anemone, bubble anemone or bulb anemone, is a species of sea anemone of Indo-Pacific origin. In the wild, this anemone is a natural host of several species of anemonefishes, including the Cinnamon (Amphiprion melanopus), Tomato (A. frenatus), Orange-fin (A. chrysopterus) and Maroon (Premnas biaculeatus).
This sea anemone can grow to be up to a 30 cm (1 ft) in diameter, and obtains the majority of it's energy from the zooxanthellae algae that inhabits it's tissues. This anemone comes in a variety of color morphs which tends to often mislead people. E. Quadricolor's tentacle shape can vary from long and lengthy to a bubble shape. There is no concrete evidence as to why tentacle shape/length differs. There are theories but none of them have been proven yet.
