Redirecting to [[C1]]
#REDIRECT [[C1]]
A C-1 is a closed canoe used to paddle whitewater rapids. In appearance it is similar to a whitewater kayak, but the paddler kneels in the cockpit and uses a single bladed paddle similar to that used to paddle a traditional canoe. C-1 is an ICF (International Canoe Federation) recognized class in international slalom, wildwater and sprint (Olympic Flatwater) racing. Because the paddler's center of gravity is higher in a C-1 than in a kayak, C-1s are generally considered less stable than kayaks. In addition, the single-bladed paddle makes paddling a C-1 more challenging than paddling a kayak with a double-bladed paddle.
