The village has three Pubs, a health centre, a primary school, a village hall and small selection of shops, as well as an Anglican Church<ref>[http://www.chacewater.net/churches/church.htm St. Paul's Church-History]</ref> <ref>[http://www.acny.org.uk/venue.php?V=2419 St.Paul's Church - current information]</ref>, dedicated to St. Paul. The Kernow Microscopial Society meets in Chacewater.
[[Chacewater railway station]] was opened by the [[West Cornwall Railway]] on [[25 August]] [[1852]] [[Disused railway stations (Plymouth to Penzance Line)#Chacewater| but has long since closed]].
[[Jonathan Hornblower]], the steam pioneer, was born here, as was [[Matthew Paul Moyle]], the meteorologist and geologist.
