It also concerned with treatment. The result of clinical research studies (especially [[clinical trial]]s) are essential for gaining approval for marketing new medications and devices or new inventions of existing products from regulatory agencies throughout the world. It usually has four phases,each of great importance. First phase usually deals with trial of the medicine in few people i.e 100-300. Second phase usually deals with trial on people of about 500-1000. Third phase usually deals with trial on more than 1000 patients. Fourth phase is usually conducted after the launch of the drug in the market.
The clinical trials are usually guided in the [[United States]] by guidelines of the [[U.S. Food and Drug Administration]], in the [[European Union]] controlled by the [[European Medicines Agency]], and in [[India]] it is governed by DCGI.
