In [[Latin language|Latin]], it is called a ''membrum'' or ''membrum orationis''. Sentences consisting of two cola are called ''dicola''; those with three are ''[[tricolon|tricola]]''. The corresponding adjectives are ''dicolic'' and ''tricolic''; ''colic'' is not used in this sense.
