[[Vicks]] '''DayQuil''' is a medicine designed to help relieve many symptoms of a [[common cold|cold]]. It is available in liquid and "LiquiCap" (capsule) form. Its nighttime counterpart, which contains a sedative, is [[NyQuil]]. DayQuil was introduced in [[1974]] under the name "DayCare."
As with NyQuil, DayQuil no longer contains [[pseudoephedrine]]. It has been replaced with [[phenylephrine]].

Phenylephrine HCl 5 mg
*[[Acetaminophen]] (pain reliever/fever reducer)
*[[Dextromethorphan]] (cough suppressant)
*[[Phenylephrine]] (nasal decongestant)
It should not be taken by people who drink a lot of [[alcohol]], who are taking other medicines containing [[acetaminophen]], or who are using a prescribed [[monoamine oxidase inhibitor]].
