'''[[Ratu]] Epenisa Seru Cakobau''' ({{IPA|ða ko mbau}}) is a [[Fiji]]an [[Ratu|chief]]. Cakobau is a senior member of the ''[[Tui Kaba]]'' clan and a high chief on the island of [[Bau Island|Bau]]. The son of the late [[George Cakobau|Ratu Sir George Cakobau]] ([[1912]]-[[1989]]), the former [[Vunivalu of Bau]] (Paramount Chief of [[Kubuna Confederacy|Kubuna]] ([[1957]]-[[1989]]) and [[List of Governors-General of Fiji|Governor-General of Fiji]] ([[1983]]-[[1983]]), he is also a great-great grandson of [[Seru Epenisa Cakobau]], the warlord who established the first unified Fijian [[Kingdom of Viti|Kingdom]] in 1871 and ceded it to the [[United Kingdom]] in 1874.
Cakobau has been involved in [[Politics of Fiji|politics]]; he was [[Fiji election of 1999|elected]] to the [[House of Representatives (Fiji)|House of Representatives]] in 1999 as a candidate of the [[Fijian Political Party]] (SVT), representing the [[Open Constituencies (Fiji)|open constituency]] of [[Tailevu South Lomaiviti (Open Constituency, Fiji)|Tailevu South Lomaiviti]], and when the [[Conservative Alliance (Fiji)|Conservative Alliance]], a [[Nationalism|nationalistic]] [[List of political parties in Fiji|political party]] was founded in 2001, Cakobau was chosen as its first president.
Cakobau is known as a devout Christian and has spoken forcefully about what he sees as the for the people to turn back to God.
