It is estimated that there are 20-29 species of the genus ''Euphoria'' in North America. These beetles are diurnal, and visit flowers to obtain pollen and/or nectar. The larvae (grubs) are reported to live in decomposing matter, but some may have an [[Myrmecophile|association]] with [[ant]]s (Insects of Cedar Creek). There are about 120 names available in the genus, but is not clear how many constitute valid species. Jesus Orozco at the University of Nebraska is doing a phylogenetic revision of the group that will help to solve some of the problems. == Photo gallery == <gallery> Image:Euphoria fulgidaPCCA20050515-7450A.jpg|Emerald Euphoria, ''Euphoria fulgida'' Image:Euphoria herbaceaPCCP20030625-1530A.jpg|Olive Euphoria, ''Euphoria herbacea'' Image:Euphoria herbaceaPCCA20050711-9331A.jpg|Olive Euphoria, ''Euphoria herbacea'' Image:Euphoria indaPCSL02117A.jpg|Bumble flower scarab, ''Euphoria inda'' Image:Euphoria_sepulcralisPCCA20040512-1755A.jpg|Dark flower scarab, ''Euphoria sepulcralis'' </gallery> == References == *Bartlett, Troy, et al.
