She was a minor sea goddess under the dominion of [[Poseidon]]. Her parents were [[Pontus (mythology)|Pontos]] and [[Gaia (mythology)|Gaia]]. Eurybia is mentioned, briefly, by [[Hesiod]] in his epic ''[[Theogony]]'', and by [[Apollodorus]] in his play ''[[The Library]]''. [[Thespius]]'s daughter is also named Eurybia.
