HTR is a three piece rock band that has been gigging around NYC and the northeast for the last three years. The band is a mix of Southern Rock and old NY punk, vicious and raw but not afraid of a sweet catchy melody. The sound is akin to a shot of Jack and a shot of Junk. They self released their debut EP "Cause/Solution" in the middle of 2006, catching the eye of well known New York label ROIR records, and landing them a distribution deal with the company.
HTR--formed in Dallas by two high school friends, Brendyn Sweet, and Luke Strickland. They initially began as informal, whiskey fueled jam sessions disguised as practice at a sign printing warehouse near the Trinity River. However, once some refinement crept into the music, HTR decided to put the lives they had gone to college for on hold and pursue music. The first step was to find a drummer whose style and philosophy fit with the band. The band kicked around Dallas, playing three-man shows while auditioning drummers, but with no luck. In August, frustrated with the Dallas scene, HTR moved to New York. After playing with multitudes of drummers throughout the dive bars of New York City, HTR finally found the drummer they were looking for. In February of 2005 Aaron Johns joined HTR and the band took off. Within a year, HTR recorded their 8-song demo entitled Cause/Solution at Loiter Studios in Brooklyn, New York, with Ellis Traver (sound engineer Fischer/Spooner) filling in the role of engineer. After finishing their 2nd CD entitled 'Let It Die,' with Richard Lloyd from Television, HTR still continues to play around the city and gain new fans at every stop.
