'''James G. Oldroyd''' is a former President of the British Society of [[Rheology]]. He formulated the [[Oldroyd-B model]] to describe the [[viscoelastic]] behaviour of [[non-Newtonian fluid]]s.
Oldroyd was professor of [[mathematics]] at the [[University of Wales, Swansea]] from [[1953]] until [[1965]] and head of the applied mathematics department from [[1957]] until 1965.
