==High school & college==
He attended [[Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania|Mt. Lebanon High School]] in [[Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania|Pittsburgh]], the same high school [[Mark Cuban]] attended.
As an undergraduate, he played [[college football]] at the [[Ohio State University]], where he set a school record for receptions by a tight end (121). All-Big Ten as a junior and senior, Frank ranks 4th on the all-time Ohio State receiving list with 121 catches for 1,481 yards and 9 touchdowns. The receptions and yardage totals are the most in school history by a tight end. He was a 3-year starter, catching a personal high 45 passes in 1981 and again in 1983, still a record total for tight ends. He was voted the team MVP as a senior. His five-year pro career was spent with the [[San Francisco 49ers]], which he helped lead to victory in [[Super Bowl XIX]] and [[Super Bowl XXIII]].
Frank finished his career in 1988 with a total of 65 receptions for 662 yards and 10 touchdowns.
