[[As of 2003]], the town has an estimated [[population]] of 2,042 and a [[population density|density]] of 18.62 persons per [[square kilometer|km²]]. The total area is 109.68 km². Kamikatsu is a 'zero waste' town, all household waste is separated into 34 different categories and sent to be [[recycling|recycled]].
