It was written, directed, produced, and edited by Mike Henry and Patrick Henry. Mike Henry, dressed in a blue jump-suit, sunglasses, and a bright orange afro wig, gives supposedly unknowing victims a firm “kick in the nuts.” Each victim at first seems to be angered and confront their attacker (or in some cases begin to attack back), but Mike quickly explains that they have been victims of the show Kicked in the Nuts. At this point, the victim laughs and acts pleased to be part of the show. However, it ended up being canceled the following month. The show is staged, as the titular act would be considered battery and subject to prosecution. This is further evident from the victim’s unrealistic reactions and that there are attacks on children. The show uses a laugh track and audience footage from various television shows. The Kicked in the Nuts prankster was featured in the Family Guy episode “The Cleveland-Loretta Quagmire,” written by Mike and Patrick, in which Mike provides voices for a few characters, including Cleveland. Peter gets unexpectedly kicked in the nuts by the prankster and tells his audience that he found a victim so they can applaud for him. A Kicked in the Nuts type show was featured in an episode of jPod (TV series), a tv show based on the Douglas Coupland book and funded by CBC. The show was enjoyed by Jim, Ethan's father. Kicked in the Nuts was featured in the “Two Balls, Two Strikes” episode of My Name Is Earl on 19 April 2007. The show was also extensively referenced in the film Idiocracy. The show now produces episodes every Monday, which are viewable on the official website kickedinthenuts.com. The show is set to be released on DVD in late 2008.
