The album has sold over 500,000 copies in the U.S. and is widely considered Static-X's heaviest album. It was also the last album with drummer Ken Jay and the only Static-X album to be recorded as a 3-piece, since guitarist Tripp Eisen did not join the group until after the album's recording. The song "Black and White" provided the album's first single and music video, and a second single would be found in "This Is Not." The song "Cold" also had a video made for it, and tied in with the film Queen of the Damned. It was featured on that film's soundtrack album, as was the exclusive "Not Meant for Me", performed by Wayne Static. ==Track listing== All releases: #"Bien Venidos" – 0:21 #"Get to the Gone" – 2:49 #"Permanence" – 4:01 #"Black and White" – 3:50 #"This Is Not" – 2:57 #"Otsego Undead" – 3:29 #"Cold" – 3:40 #"Structural Defect" – 3:39 #"...In a Bag" – 4:21 #"Burn to Burn" – 4:17 #"Machine" – 3:27 #"A Dios Alma Perdida" – 5:58 Bonus Tracks: #"Anything But This" - 4:03 (Japanese edition only) #"Sweat of the Bud" (Live) - 3:24 (Japanese edition only) == Chart Positions == === Album === {| border=1 cellspacing=0 cellpadding=2 width="550" !align="left" valign="top"|Year !align="left" valign="top"|Chart !align="left" valign="top"|Position |- |align="left" valign="top"|2001 |align="left" valign="top"|The Billboard 200 |align="left" valign="top"|#11 |- |} === Singles === {| border=1 cellspacing=0 cellpadding=2 width="550" !align="left" valign="top"|Year !align="left" valign="top"|Single !align="left" valign="top"|Chart !align="left" valign="top"|Position |- |align="left" valign="top"|2001 |align="left" valign="top"|"Black and White" |align="left" valign="top"|Mainstream Rock Tracks |align="left" valign="top"|#35 |- |align="left" valign="top"|2001 |align="left" valign="top"|"This Is Not" |align="left" valign="top"|Mainstream Rock Tracks |align="left" valign="top"|#36 |- |align="left" valign="top"|2002 |align="left" valign="top"|"Cold" |align="left" valign="top"|Mainstream Rock Tracks |align="left" valign="top"|#29 |- |} == Production == In the unreleased Static-X DVD Where the Hell Are We and What Day Is It... This Is Static-X, it was commented that the songs for this album would have guitar solos; however, this was not the case. The opening sample of the track "A Dios Alma Perdida," a synthetic arrangement with a filtered voice speaking in what sounds at times like English (notably closing with an eerie "It's me!"), is from the 1978 film Laserblast. This sample is an abbreviated version of a conversation between the aliens in that movie. == Personnel == *Static-X **Wayne Static - vocals, guitars, keyboards, programming **Tony Campos - bass, background vocals **Ken Jay - drums **Tripp Eisen - guitars (it should be noted that Koichi Fukuda wrote the guitars, but Tripp performed them) **Koichi Fukuda - additional guitars, writing credit == References == Static-X [[Category:Warner Bros.
