They initially barter with Tessic, the colony leader, for 200 liters of deuterium for 4 power cells and whatever medical supplies Enterprise can spare, provided the Enterprise crew can fix the pumps in two days. Despite deuterium being a valuable commodity, Archer is startled by the fact that the colony lacks basic medical supplies and that the structures are rusting and in poor shape. The reason why becomes apparent when a dozen Klingons show up to collect deuterium from the colony, whom believe have an exclusive deal with the colony. The colony leaders beg Archer to stay out of sight of the Klingons, which they do and Enterprise changes to an orbit on the opposite side of the Klingons. When Tessic informs Korok, the leader of the Klingons, that they don't have all the deuterium because two pumps weren't working. Korok gives them four days to pump the remaining deuterium. When Trip and Archer attempt to talk them into fighting against the Klingons, Tessic tell them to take their 200 liters and leave. However, taking the deuterium and leaving does not sit well with Archer. Archer takes a trip back to the planet and convinces the leader to stand against the Klingons...with the help of the Enterprise. In preparation, T'Pol teaches some colonists how to evade edged-weapon attacks (from Vulcan martial-art Susmana) while Ensign Hoshi and Lieutenant Reed teach other colonists how to fire weapons more accurately. Archer and Trip help the colonists shift the entire colony to the south 50 meters. When the Klingon marauders arrive, the colony looks like a ghost town, especially since the pumps are no longer running. The ensuing fight lands the Klingons surrounded by the capped-off deuterium well heads (the Klingons are lured into this area because the entire colony was shifted), which were ignited and surrounds the Klingons in fire. Tessic tells the Klingons to leave and not come back because they'll be ready for them. In the end, Archer finds himself with 2,000 liters of deuterium instead of the bartered 200 liters. Klingon stories ==External links== Marauders
