He is known for his forthright views on current affairs although from time to time relaxes the rules and people can call in for any reason they see fit - from the environment to LOST and from plight of Muslims in modern Britain to fashion. Marcus was off air from March to June 2006 due to illness. A serious gallstone problem meant that he had to have his gallbladder removed. Despite his strong belief in the NHS, he opted to go private to overcome a long waiting list. During his four and a half month absence his shows were filled by Peter Deeley, Bill Buckley, Adrian Allen and Alex Thomas. He returned to the station on 5th July. Upon his return, he dismissed rumours spread on the internet which claimed his absence was to have a kidney transplant. He personally attacked Wikipedia for giving a voice to these rumours, but later admitted that they were harmless. After another break lasting from December 2006 until the end of August 2007, Marcus has since returned to LBC standing in for other presenters such as Bill Buckley, Clive Bull, Steve Allen and Anthony Davis. ==New Age Philosophy== Marcus left full time radio to pursue his spiritual development and study the Earth's impending energy crisis. "Its still here!" he says "its still here, Marconi's first radio transmission is still in the air, still in space somewhere". These observations have encouraged him to help design a suit that will attract radio waves and turn them into electricity to give him the power of flight and thus save fossil fuels. He has used the hillside near St Michael's Church Glastonbury to pick up enough speed to catch enough waves to drive the special flaps on the suit.So far without success. Marcus is also studying soil as a heat source and now collects mud from various parts of the country to examine for heating potential, and has currently collected and sifted through approximately a thousand tonnes of soil. After reading some ancient Druid writings, he discovered that covering the body with mud was not only a good insulator but also released heat as well ! He says he has enough information already not to wear the mud in the winter months. ==Curriculum Vitae== Career 2004 to 2006 - LBC 97.3 - Presenter "Through the night" Training/Facilitation: NEF - Anti voter apathy event at Spitalifields. 1998 to 1999 - LBC 1152AM - Presenter/Producer "Early Breakfast with Marcus Churchill" 1997 to 1998 - LBC 1152AM - News Editor. 1996 to 1998 - ITN News Direct Radio - Reporter/Presenter. 1992 to 1996 - United artists Cable Television - Anchor Presenter/Producer.
