In the [[United Kingdom Census 2001|2001 Census]] it had a population of 114 people. It is within the [[Fermanagh District Council]] area. == Places of interest == [[Monea Castle]] was built about 1618 by Malcolm Hamilton and had a [[bawn]] built later, in 1622. It was captured in the [[Irish Rebellion of 1641]] but refurbished and used again by the planters. In 1688 it was the residence of the Governor of [[Enniskillen]].
