The '''34th [[IAAF World Cross Country Championships]]''' were held 1-2 April 2006 in [[Fukuoka, Fukuoka|Fukuoka]], [[Japan]].
The event was once again dominated by [[Ethiopia]]n and [[Kenya]]n runners. [[Kenenisa Bekele]] won both men's individual races, proving himself the most successful [[Cross country running|Cross country runner]].
