Oldham Mumps Railway Station is the main railway station of the town of Oldham, Greater Manchester, England. The station is a primary station located on the Oldham Loop Line 12 km (7½ miles) north east of Manchester Victoria operated and managed by Northern Rail.
The name of the station is taken from its situation within the Mumps area of Oldham, which itself probably derived from the archaic word "mumper" which was slang for a beggar.
Description
The station is reached across the dual-carriageway Oldham bypass which results in a difficult walk from the town centre. A pedestrian underpass leads to the island platform on which is a ticket office.
Future
It is proposed that the station will be converted to Metrolink as part of the plans for Phase 3a, and will be re-located to the other side of the Oldham Way as part of the plans for Phase 3b.
Service
During the day from Monday to Saturday, services operate half-hourly from Oldham Mumps to Manchester Victoria (southbound) and to Rochdale (northbound). On Sundays there is an hourly service in each direction.
Trains which usually operate on the Oldham Loop Line that stop at Oldham Mumps are:

*Class 150
*Class 156
