In high school, Gnecco was in the band Lost Child and later, The Harmony Bandits (which eventually evolved into what is now OURS). Around 1992-1994, OURS released their first album titled Sour under their own label entitled "Beatnik Records" owned by Mike Marri. Afterwards, the band dissolved and would not reform again for several years. In 1997, Gnecco started OURS again and quickly drew industry attention. Jimmy signed with Records and after 4 years, OURS released their first major label album Distorted Lullabies in 2001. Produced by Steve Lillywhite of U2 fame, the album received mixed reviews but led to successful tours with acts such as Ocean Colour Scene, Pete Yorn, and The Cult. The track "Sometimes" peaked at #31 on the US Billboard Modern Rock charts that year. Precious followed quickly in 2002. Precious featured a more stripped-down sound and received much more positive reviews and a slot opening for The Wallflowers. In 2004, Ours relocated from New Jersey to Los Angeles to work with legendary producer Rick Rubin. The resulting album, Mercy (Dancing for the Death of an Imaginary Enemy), was released on April 15, 2008. Current members of the band Ours, under the monikers Static, Locke, Race, and Pit, along with Jimmy, are currently preparing for their 2008 tour. ==Members== ===Current members=== *Jimmy Gnecco (vocals, guitar) *Static (guitar) *Locke (guitar, keys) *Race (bass) *Kirke Jan (drums) ===Past members=== *Dave Milone *Tony Angerson *Scott Greco *Anthony DeMarco *A.C. Jimmy never worked as his tech. He later shared Jeff's management team. Jimmy Gnecco recorded a cover of Big Country's "In a Big Country" in a recent ad campaign for Kohl's department stores. </div> ==Interviews== * Jimmy Gnecco's Interview w/ The Scenestar - July 2007 ==External links== *Official site *KillTheBand.com *Ours TV Online *(http://www.myspace.com/oursmusic Official Ours Myspace Page) *Red Colored Stars *Dream You're Alive de:Ours pl:Ours
