The Repository of Student Information (ROSI) is the student records management system used by the University of Toronto.
Student Web Service
Students access ROSI on the World Wide Web using the Student Web Service (SWS). The SWS allows students to enrol in courses, manage timetables, access financial accounts, and more. Every student at the University of Toronto has a student number that they can use to access SWS services.
ROSI is managed and administered by the Student Information Systems (SIS) department at the university.
The SWS was recently re-written using Java technology which has greatly increased usability, which is not saying much. Notorious for being unresponsive during busy periods such as the first day of course enrolment, recent changes to ROSI are geared towards improving SWS response times allowing students to do their work faster. However, when marks are posted on ROSI at the end of the exam period it is difficult to access.
The ROSI logo is based on a mysterious creature made mostly of albino eggplant which wears the CN tower like a hat. Some skeptics question whether such a creature could possibly exist.
ROSI Online
Registrarial staff access ROSI through MVS and can perform a wide array of operations using the system.
