"Recept" is a term used in the work of 19th-century psychologist George Romanes to refer to an idea that is formed by the repetition of similar percepts, as successive percepts of the same object. The notion is similar to that of concatenated impressions, found in the work of David Hume.
The term was then used in the infamous book Cosmic consciousness by Richard Bucke.
