[[Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting|You can help!]] '''Richard Whitehead Young''' ([[April 19]], [[1858]] - [[December 27]], [[1919]]) was a U.S. Army Brigadier General and an Associate Justice of U.S. Territory of the Philippines Supreme Court. Young was born in Salt Lake City in 1858, a grandson of [[Brigham Young]]. He entered [[United States Military Academy|West Point]] in 1878, and graduated 15th in the Class of 1882. In 1884 he graduated from [[Columbia University]] Law School, and practiced as a military attorney until 1888, when he returned to Utah to open a private law practice. He reentered the military during the [[Spanish-American War]], and led troops in the [[Philippines]]. When the war ended, he was appointed as an Associate Justice of the U.S. Territory of the Philippines Supreme Court. He later returned to private legal practice. In 1918 he was commissioned as a brigadier general, and he led a U.S. infantry brigade in France.
