'''Rura''' is a town and a [[nagar panchayat]] in [[Kanpur Dehat district]] in the [[India]]n [[States and territories of India|state]] of [[Uttar Pradesh]]. The town is situated on the banks of Ram Ganga canal. It is a major town in the Kanpur Dehat (rural) district and is connected by fast route of Howrah-Delhi railway line. It has primary and secondary schools and two government intermediate colleges to provide both sciences and arts education. The nearby cities are Kanpur (44 km) towards the East and Etawah (60 km) towards the West. The district headquarter is nearly 15 km away at Akbarpur-Mati.
