Added link to platelets. Eventually delete this page and add a redirect of "thrombocytes" to platelets page. Aren't thrombocytes nucleated?
Thrombocytes are cells that play a key role in blood clotting. In mammals, thrombocytes are anucleated cell fragments called [[platelets]], and in nonmammals, they are spindle-shaped cells and classified as [[leukocytes]].
