Became president and dir. Ontario & Raimy River Ry. Co., 1898 (now a portion of Can. Northern Ry. system); was later a dir. Port Arthur Light and Power Co., presdt. W. Algoma Agricul. Soc., presdt. St. Joe Ry. Co. and secy and mangr. Lake Superior Dock Co.; has done important work as genl mangr. New Ont. Colonization Assn.; owns Port Arthur Herald, which he formerly conducted; a Lib., and has twice unsuccessfully contested Algoma (H.C.) in that interest; a Presb. -- Port Arthur, Ont.
